Mahjong Temple is a browser-based Mahjong Solitaire game. This page describes what information is processed when you use the site, how it is stored, and what choices you have. We designed the product to minimize data collection: there are no user accounts, no sign-in, and no paywall that would require identifying you.

Who we are

"Mahjong Temple," "we," and "us" refer to the operators of this website and the Mahjong Temple game experience served from it. The site is delivered as static files and client scripts; there is no Mahjong Temple-hosted backend that stores a profile for you or your gameplay history on our servers.

Data stored on your device (localStorage)

To remember your current game, preferences, and related settings between visits, the site saves data in your browser using the Web Storage API (specifically localStorage). The persisted payload uses the storage key mahjong-temple-v1. Typical contents include board state, move history, timer values, layout choice, daily challenge metadata, and UI preference flags—everything needed to resume play without asking you to create an account. This data never leaves your device unless your browser syncs storage across devices through a vendor feature (for example, browser sync), which is outside our control.

You can clear this data at any time through your browser's settings (often under privacy, site data, or storage). Doing so will reset in-progress games and preferences on this device.

Optional analytics (Google Analytics)

When the site is built or deployed with a NEXT_PUBLIC_GA_ID environment variable, we load Google Analytics to understand aggregate traffic—such as which pages are viewed, approximate geography, and device type. Google's services are governed by Google's own policies. If that variable is not set, no Google Analytics scripts are included and this category does not apply.

What we do not collect

We do not operate user registration, email lists, or in-game chat tied to identities on Mahjong Temple. We do not ask for your name, phone number, or postal address to play. We do not use third-party advertising networks or social widgets on the pages described by this policy beyond the optional Google Analytics integration noted above.

Cookies

Mahjong Temple does not set first-party HTTP cookies for core gameplay; progress relies on localStorage. Google Analytics, when enabled, may use cookies or similar technologies according to Google's documentation.

Children

The game is suitable for general audiences. We do not knowingly solicit personal information from children. Because we do not operate accounts, we do not collect birthdays or parental contact details through Mahjong Temple itself.

Changes

We may update this policy when the product or legal context changes. Material changes will be described here in plain language; you can also review the revision history of this page in the project source when it is published.
